Statement from the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority

BEC has participated in the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority’s first cyber stress test. The test did not lead to any supervisory reactions against BEC.

In 2023, BEC took part in the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority’s first cyber stress test, which also involved two other IT vendors and four systemically important banks (SIFI).

The test was conducted as a desktop exercise over an extended period based on a specific, but fictitious IT breakdown scenario. In a cyber stress test, it is assumed that the company’s cyber defenses have failed. Therefore, the test is not an assessment of the company’s ability to defend itself, but rather its ability to handle the consequences of an attack.

The test did not lead to any supervisory reactions against BEC. All participants received individual learning points within five themes aimed at increasing operational robustness among the participants and in the financial sector.
